Take Us out to the Ballgame!

Mr. Awesome is loving baseball again this year... can't believe we are 'full swing' {pardon the pun} into the season and approaching playoffs quite soon!  Mr. A hopes to go Pro someday and this momma couldn't be prouder of her little Big Boy!

Yes, that is my baby!
Lookin' all grown up there, he's a pitcher, a catcher and can be spotted at 3rd base quite often too!
I'm lovin' this photo courtesy of Gina from Simply Gifted Photography!
{stop over and show her FB page some "like" love peeps}

Did you know that baseball players get all superstitious?  Yes, even the smaller ones!  Mr. Awesome's team unfortunately lost their first game... I know, so sad.  But, {in his mind} the luck changed when Mommy and Sister wore their lucky Bling shirts!

Because I'm such a supportive MoM! {lol - really I'm just a big old dork nerd, but don't tell the kids!} I purchased some sparkly iron on transfers from the Bling Palace on Etsy and some $4.95 white tank tees from our local KMart and made some eye poppin' Baseball Tees for us to wear to the next game.

Guess what!  They WoN that game!

I was then informed that I had to wear that shirt to EVeRY game for good luck!
You got it Mr. A!
Alexis and I also wanted to show some more baseball luv to brother, so we sat down and made these:

from an idea I found on Pintrest!

Well, mommy did all of the cutting, but Alexis game lots of moral support!  OUrs are not perfect, and we could not get the leather to straighten out but we love them just the same!

Mr. A's team has won a bunch, lost a few... but are having fun all the same!

If you haven't done so, please stop here and vote for Alexis to win a special adaptive Bike!
Now, don't forget, if you like this post go ahead and connect with T&B on FB, GFC, linky follow, Twitter G+, or pin with me on Pintrest!  Until next time,

The "Happy" Dance

Sharing time!

Last Friday night, my girl attended her first Freshman Dance as a high schooler! Sniff Sniff, we will not discuss the whole High School thing right now and how I am feeling old as dirt and get into trouble when I continue to refer to her as my 'wittle peanut'.

No, no dress remake this year... we went store bought.  Believe me I wanted to make a dress but I have to admit i can't do it all.  So thank you God for allowing us to happen upon this dress!
What a face!  Look at that dimple!
Attempting to strike a pose had us both cracking up with laughter as she almost fell over!
The fun of the photo shoot began to wear off.
Can you imagine what she's thinking here?  I bet it's not "I love you Mom"

So lady like... NOT.
Oh my gosh... she even wore makeup!  That is a first for this girl.  I do think there is a girly girl in there somewhere!  Seemed to like Mommy's blingy sparkly earrings as much as I do.

Long story short,  She had a blast!  I made sure she and her friend made it safely inside the school cafeteria which was transformed to a night in Vegas... lovely night for them.
                                                                                                                              then...
I retreated to the car, where I began to hyperventilate and cry! You'd have thought I just dropped them off on the corner of the worst city in the world for the murders and wrongdoers to have their way with them!  Longest 3 hours of my life.  I was so afraid someone would tease or make fun or stare like we've been experiencing A LOT lately.
The next day she found out that I had cried.  She turned to me and told me I was SillY. No one made fun of them, no one was mean, in fact... she danced!  She danced with her friends from the average classes.  Everyone loved her dress and told her how pretty she was!  Mommy did a Happy Dance of her own!  Just a few more before you go!

Play Ball!!!

So, it's that time of year again.  I luv luv luv it!
Little League Opening Day 2011
for my little guy Austin.
Alright, I know, he's not so little anymore.  9 almost 10 but always my baby!
He's a Dodger this year and is really glad he has a blue uniform that matches his blue Phiten necklace.
(I know, he's like him momma...things gotta match)
Hey, even a nine yr old's got priorities!

It was sunny but a good bit chilly for the opening day parade.  The kids march up the main street about a mile (estimate) to their baseball field.  The fire trucks escort them & they love to do it.  Each kid brings a canned good for the local food shelters which I think is a nice touching thing to do.
We spent most of the morning at the field for opening ceremonies.  Freezing our tushies off
but it is so worth it!

After a quick sing-a-long to 'Take me out to the ballgame'
the organizer shouts
'Play Ball!'
Hundreds of little kids from about 4 to 17 participate in games throughout the day.
My oldest, Alexis, AKA Boom boom had a great time too.
SEE that SMILIN' FACE!
It doesn't take much to keep her happy.  She like to support her brother in everything he does.
Notice her "Fucci" (faux Gucci) purse there...she luvs that thing!

I first told you a bit about Boom boom here.

BUT
on to my little craft of the day!
I know, these are not exactly new news.

Satin flowers have been all over the blogs...
I too luv these!
I've been makin' them out the Kazoo with all different colors of satin and creating all different looks.
The burgundy flowers pictures remind me of poppies.

They are everywhere...

and what a cute little touch for all sorts of things from picture frames to hair adornments...
to
My Flip Flops!

The flowers were already done, waiting for me to use them somehow!
Just in case you're not familiar with the process, I will post a tutorial on my blog here as well.
They are simply glues with some E6000 glue to the top of my cheapie flipper floppers!

By the way, this may be part of the reason I froze all day at the games...I couldn't wait to wear them!  I'm really pushin' for those warm spring/summer flip flop wearin' days!

I have another idea for this cute summery look, I'll be back to share that with you as well!

So don't forget to come on over again.  The door is always open!
