Many of you know, paint is my therapy. I've done quite a bit of painting these past 2 weeks... what's that tell you? I had hubby pick up a 4x4 post and a 2x4 from the HD, gave him a specific set of instructions for how I wanted the wood cut... I took a couple of hours for myself and created these:
Halloween Countdown Blocks!
If you follow along on FB you may have caught a glimpse as I added them to the shop.
Did you know 4x4 post are actually only 3.5 inches? I didn't, but now I know! Dear Hubby cut 2- 3.5 squares and 2- 3.5x5 inches for me... isn't he sweet? I then asked him to cut a 2x4 to a little over 14 inches long to create a base.
Each block received a coat of black paint. Halloween themed craft paper {6 different designs for each block}, cut into 3 inch squares was mod podged on and sealed. My favorite little friend {2nd to my paintbrushes} the Silhouette Cameo then came out to play. The numbers for the blocks and the text, "Days til Trick or Treat" was cut from some bright lime green vinyl and applied and sealed also with poly sealer... so cute already, right?
To the larger 5 inch end blocks, I free handed a cute furry little purple spider! OHHHH I don't like real life spiders but this one is just too cute with her green and orange striped legs.
