Many of you may remember that Boom turned 16 at the beginning of the month. We had a small cake for her on the actual day but threw her a SwEEt BasH this past weekend. She is my one and only girl so I had to go all out to make this birthday special for her. Every day she is with us is cause for celebration but 16 is one of those milestone birthdays in my eyes requiring all out fuss!
Today, I thought I'd share with you a few glimpses of our decor for the day and break down some simple projects in the days to come. Of course, you know it had to be PINK! The whole theme of the party was dictated by some lovely hot pink and zebra stripe paper plates and napkins we found... the rest sorta evolved!
Our sweets table consisted of lots of pink lemonade cupcakes, peanut butter cookies, candy buttons, watermelon pink licorice, a lollipop topiary, candy sticks in sweet pink flavors, and a funky pink zebra cake made by mommy!
We were able to decorate and make things look nice while remaining on a tight budget... parties do not have to break the bank!
Our 'Drink Section' had a little something for everyone... sweet tea anyone?
Or, how about a nice cold bottle of water? We had fun making these together!
Yep, that's me in my Cheetah print top! Told you it was wild!
And the birthday girl blows out her candles after making a special wish! She couldn't wait to dig into that top layer... specially made for her, carrot cake, YuMMMM!
I hope you enjoyed seeing a few glimpses of our sweet 16 today. I'm still making my way through the links from T4 last week, please be patient, I will get there... Seems the stress of the party has brought on some severe bouts of Vertigo from my Meniere's Disease and I'm having trouble reading and focusing on the computer screen... and walking... lol... watch out for that wall!
